Submit Your Brand for Review
Every kombucha brand available in Singapore is eligible for review on KombuchaSG. The same 7-criteria scorecard. The same format. No exceptions and no special treatment — in either direction.
Who can submit
Any kombucha brand currently available for purchase in Singapore — whether locally brewed, imported, sold in supermarkets, cafés, or online — is eligible for review. You do not need to be a Singapore-registered company. You do not need to meet any minimum score threshold to be listed.
If your brand is already in our directory with a provisional score based on website data, a submission with physical label information will allow us to update and verify the review. If your brand is not yet in the directory, a complete submission will be used to build the review from scratch.
What we have already assessed
Before publishing our directory, we conducted an extensive assessment of kombucha and kombucha-style products available in Singapore — including brands from local brewers, regional imports, and international commercial labels. This included products from brands such as Fizzicle, Scoop, Yocha, Genie, Jiva, Little Farm Kombucha (OEM-produced by Wild Boocha), Lo Bros, Vigo, WonderBrew (Malaysia), and Teazen — among others.
The majority were not featured in our public directory. Not because of any commercial consideration, but because they did not meet the threshold of authentic kombucha as defined by the KombuchaSG Authenticity Scorecard. Common findings across unreviewed brands included:
- Carbonated or sparkling water listed as an ingredient — disqualifying the product from a natural carbonation score
- Flavour profiles noticeably diluted relative to traditionally fermented kombucha
- Vague or incomplete ingredient transparency — “natural flavoring” without specifics
- Products that present as kombucha commercially but do not ferment with a live SCOBY culture
This assessment process required significant time, expense, and independent tasting. It is the foundation of the editorial standard this site is built on. Brands that were assessed and not listed are welcome to resubmit if their formulation or labeling has changed materially.
📋 A note on Teazen and similar products
Some products assessed — including Teazen — are not considered kombucha under the KombuchaSG definition. They are fermented beverage products or tea-based drinks that may borrow kombucha branding but do not involve SCOBY fermentation as the primary production method. These products are outside the scope of our scorecard and directory entirely.
The review process
Submit your information
Complete the form below with your brand details, ingredient lists, and any supporting documentation. The more complete your submission, the more detailed and accurate the review will be.
We review the submission
We assess your brand against the 7-criteria KombuchaSG Authenticity Scorecard using your declared ingredient lists and label information. Where possible, we also purchase and taste your product independently before publishing.
The review is published
Your brand review is added to the KombuchaSG directory. Reviews are permanent — we do not remove them at a brand’s request. If your product changes materially, resubmit and we will reassess and update accordingly.
Scores can be updated
If you reformulate, improve your labeling, or can provide additional verified information — lab results, nutrition panels, SCOBY documentation — resubmit and we will reassess. A better product earns a better score.
What your brand is assessed on
The same 7-criteria scorecard applied to every brand in the directory. Full details are on The Standard page.
| Criteria | What genuine looks like | Points |
|---|---|---|
| SCOBY origin & integrity | Live, documented, passed down or cultivated — not a vinegar shortcut | 15 |
| Carbonation source | Natural 2nd fermentation only. No added carbonated or sparkling water. | 15 |
| Flavoring method | Whole fruit or botanicals. No artificial flavors, no vague “natural flavoring”. | 15 |
| Live cultures at point of sale | Lab-verified CFU count or visible culture activity. Not pasteurised. | 15 |
| Sugar content after fermentation | Under 4g per 100ml — consumed by SCOBY during fermentation. | 15 |
| Ingredient transparency | Full disclosure. No vague terms. Every ingredient clearly identified. | 15 |
| Production integrity | Small-batch, controlled, traceable. Founder-led or craft production preferred. | 10 |
| Total | 100 |
🤖 AI-Assisted Scoring
All brand reviews on KombuchaSG are produced with AI assistance. The AI analyses declared ingredient lists, nutrition panels, and front-of-pack claims against the published scorecard criteria. Scores are applied consistently and without editorial bias — the criteria are fixed, and every brand is assessed against the same framework. Where physical product verification has been completed, this is noted in the individual review.
Read The Standard to see the full scoring methodology before your review is published.
📝 Editor’s Tasting Note
Where we have physically purchased and tasted your product, the review will include an Editor’s Tasting Note — a human assessment of aroma, carbonation, flavour, and overall drinking experience. This section is independent of the scorecard and does not affect the numerical score. It exists to give readers a firsthand account of what the product is actually like to drink.
Not every brand has been tasted at the time of first publication. If your review does not yet include a tasting note, it will be added when we obtain the product independently.
What to include in your submission
- Brand name and website — your brand’s full name and primary website URL
- Full ingredient list for each product — copied verbatim from your Singapore-market packaging
- Nutri-Grade and sugar per 100ml — from the nutrition panel on your Singapore-market label
- Front-of-pack claims — every claim printed on the front of the bottle, exactly as it appears
- Where to buy in Singapore — retail locations, online stores, or direct ordering details
- SCOBY documentation (optional but scored) — origin, age, or lineage information
- Lab results (optional but scored) — third-party live culture verification or accredited food safety testing
- Carbonation method — natural second fermentation or other source
- Production details — batch size, brewing location, founder-led or craft production
A submission with complete ingredient lists and label information is sufficient to begin the review process. Additional documentation improves the score where relevant criteria apply.
Submitting your brand does not guarantee a positive score. The scorecard criteria are fixed and applied without adjustment. A brand that uses added carbonated water will score zero on the carbonation criterion — that is the criterion, not an editorial decision.
We do not accept payment to improve scores, adjust criteria, or delay publication. We do not remove reviews at a brand’s request. If you believe a review contains a factual error about your declared ingredients or label claims, submit a correction request with evidence and we will investigate.
By submitting, you confirm that the ingredient information provided accurately reflects your Singapore-market product labels.
